INFRA Skills Helps Combat Unemployment

On 27th April 2018 INFRA Skills (ATS) LTD, a subsidiary of Auctus Management Group LTD, took part in the Talent Match Black Country annual conference, who aim to aid young individuals who are struggling to enter the job market.
The organisation works with 18-24-year-old’s who are not in employment, education or training and supports them through their journey into employment. Over the past four years Talent Match have engaged and supported over 1,500 young people to overcome significant barriers, gain confidence, develop new skills, access volunteering, work placements, secure and sustain employment.
ATS is part of the Midland Metro Alliance, who’s representative Rose Rees, Training and Development manager, was a speaker at the conference providing insight into the programme through an employer’s perspective. Speaking in regards to unemployment levels within the Midlands, Rose commented: “The vision of the Midland Metro Alliance is to create a lasting legacy of sustainable employment for local people’ and ultimately assist in meeting the objectives of Talent Match Black Country as it encourages the employment of local workers.”
Alongside Rose Rees was speaker Omari Thomas, a previous mentee of the programme. The Talent Match programme supported Omari through his journey back into the job market after being in custody at HMP Brinsford YOI. Since entering the programme Omari has sat with policy makers in Westminster, attended national business exhibitions and franchise events and has met and interviewed business owners around the Black Country in order to achieve his aspiration of opening his own restaurant.
Since the launch of Talent match in 2014, 54% of young people surveyed after 12 months have had access to additional training with the hope of improving this further aided by both The Midland Metro Alliance and INFRA Skills.
