Last week, Richard Toy, CEO of Auctus Management Group, and Monica Barbosa, Head of Account Development for RSS Infrastructure, had the chance to attend the Rail Forum Midlands (RFM) parliamentary reception and hear from both sides of the political transport divide.
They were able to meet and speak with Wendy Morton MP for Aldridge-Brownhills (Department for Transport), Heather Wheeler MP for South Derbyshire (Cabinet Office), and Andrew Stephenson MP for Pendle (Department for Transport). We also listened to Pauline Latham, OBE MP, who spoke about the UK Supply Chain and our role and importance in the functioning UK Rail Network.
The parliamentary reception was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the UK’s transport policy and its impact on businesses in the infrastructure sector, particularly the rail industry. We want to thank Elaine Clark and the RFM team for arranging this event and giving us the chance to meet with such influential MPs.
Richard Toy commented, “It was great to speak to politicians across the political divide and give feedback on our sector’s current challenges. We need to make sure that the voice of the supply chain is heard, and we can only do that by engaging with all parts of the political process.”
Monica Barbosa added, “It was a pleasure to attend the RFM Parliamentary reception. We had some very insightful discussions with MPs from all parties about the challenges facing our industry and how we could work together to overcome them.
